Life needs a soundtrack for every experience.

No Parking!
The quality of said experience can be directly linked to the relevance of the music you accompany it with. I went for a leisurely three hour walk through Berlin, traveling from the hotel to the Bundestag by way of the following sites: the WWII Jewish Memorial, the WWII Homosexual Memorial, chunks of the Wall, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichtag, the Kennedy Museum, svelte, shirtless German break dancers, and Skoda bike festival and four Biergartens.
Behold! The best (and most apropos) transatlantic playlist, ever… The JFK to TXL mix. Honest to Blog, this is the exact order:
Nico: These Days
The Shins: Kissing the Lipless
Arcade Fire: Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)
Of Montreal: Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games
Thom Yorke: Black Swan
Aimee Mann: Save Me
Cat Power: He War
Modest Mouse: The World at Large
Rufus Wainwright: Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk
The National: Mistaken for Strangers
The Pixies: Where is My Mind?
Elliott Smith: Pretty (Ugly Before)
Heroin: The Velvet Underground
Deathcab: Trasatlanticism (Not Kidding)
The White Stripes: We’re Going to be Friends
David Bowie: Queen Bitch
Devotchka: How It Ends
Iron and Wine: Boy With a Coin
The Eels: Novocaine for the Soul
Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Cheated Hearts
Peter Bjorn and John: Amsterdam
Tegan and Sara: The Con
Rilo Kiley: Silver Lining
Note: This is, in fact, the best playlist for European wandering you’ll ever experience. In this order and at about 4 miles per hour, you’ll reach enlightenment by Iron and Wine or in front the Eastside Gallery.
Whichever comes first.
